Leffell Space Program Prepares for Liftoff
Our Leffell Space Program students are preparing to launch HAB-2, the program’s second high-altitude balloon (HAB) mission, in the coming weeks if the winds cooperate. The balloon is aiming for 100,000 feet, up from last year’s first flight at 91,000, and students are leading the mission teams, from Mission Operations to Recovery. In a new article on The Times of Israel, Dr. Danny Aviv, director of engineering and design, describes the day his students took charge. Read “When My Students Asked Me to Step Aside.”
