ITALY
We are excited to announce an exclusive opportunity for SW/Leffell School alumni parents to travel with us on The Leffell School Journey through Jewish Italy from July 8 – 16, 2026.
This 9-day journey will immerse you in the rich tapestry of Jewish history, culture, and cuisine across Rome, Pitigliano, Florence, Pisa, and Venice, led by Rabbi Harry Pell.
Along the way, you will explore ancient landmarks, discover Jewish history hiding in plain sight, and connect with fellow Leffell School alumni families in a unique and meaningful way.
Highlights of the trip include:
- Opening dinner in the heart of the Roman Jewish Ghetto
Private, Jewish-focused tours of the Colosseum, Arch of Titus, Vatican, and Pantheon in Rome - A kosher Roman cooking class and meals with local Jewish community members
- Shabbat with the Roman Jewish community at Rome's Great Synagogue
- A visit to Pitigliano, the "Jerusalem of Italy"
- Wine tasting and lunch at the Terra di Seta kosher winery in Tuscany
- Florence's iconic sites - Michelangelo’s David, the Great Synagogue, and the Ponte Vecchio
- A Venetian Ghetto tour, motoscafi water taxis on the Grand Canal, and a delicious closing dinner with kosher guanciale
