First Graders Visit Local Firehouse

As part of their Community Helpers unit, first graders from The Leffell School visited their local firehouse to meet firefighters, explore the trucks and see firsthand how the station operates. Throughout the unit, students will continue to study essential community roles, such as doctors and nurses, postal workers and teachers—to learn how they support our neighborhoods. This hands-on learning will culminate in a celebration of community, where each student will present a special report on a community helper of their choice.
