This Year's Inductees
A four-year starter in basketball, Aaron Prince is the school’s first and only 1,000 point scorer. He was named all-state as a sophomore after averaging 17.1 points per game. Aaron will be inducted into the Leffell School/Schechter Westchester Athletics Hall of Fame in 2026.
Jonathan Rand was a two-time all-section and one-time league player of the year in soccer. He helped lead the Lions to two sectional titles and a state runner-up finish. Jonathan was also an all-league player in basketball. Jonathan will be inducted into the Leffell School/Schechter Westchester Athletics Hall of Fame in 2026
Maya Kremins was the 2018 Leffell Athlete of the Year. She was an all-state honorable mention and two-time all-league player in basketball. She sits at third on the school’s all time list for points scored. In addition, Maya was a two-time all-league player in softball. Maya will be inducted into the Leffell School/Schechter Westchester Athletics Hall of Fame in 2026
In what was the school’s first year competing at the Class C level, the 2007 Girls Soccer Team won the first sectional title in Schechter/Leffell history. Coached by Kim Saxton, the team achieved a 12-4-1 record and finished the year as the #12 ranked team in the NYSSWA Class C state rankings. The girls defeated Valhalla 3-1 in the Section Championship before coming up just short in the regional round, losing to S.S. Seward from Section IX in overtime. This team will be inducted into the Leffell School/Schechter Westchester Athletics Hall of Fame in 2026
Hall of Fame Members
Coached by Scott D'Ottavio, the 2005 Baseball team represented Section 1 in the New York State Class D playoffs. They won the Regional Championship by beating Chapel Field from Section 9 by a score of 6-5. They followed up that performance with a dominating 11-2 win in the State Semifinals over Forestville from Section 6 before falling to Edmeston from Section 3 in the State Championship by a score of 8-6.
Tal Cushmaro was a three-sport athlete - playing soccer, basketball, and baseball - and is considered one of the pioneers of Schechter/Leffell athletics. He earned All-League honors in basketball and All-Section honors in baseball. Tal was the winning pitcher in both the Regional Championship and State Semifinals en route to the baseball team’s New York State runner-up finish in 2005.
Adam Fleishman was a two-sport athlete at Schechter Westchester, playing soccer and tennis. He was the first All-State honoree in school history, an accolade he earned twice in soccer. Adam was also an All-League tennis player and the team’s first singles player for four years.
Charlotte Fabiani was a three-sport athlete - playing tennis, basketball, and golf. She was an All-Section golfer who qualified for the New York State tournament in 2007. She was the first singles player and two-time league champion in tennis and is second on the school’s all-time list for points scored in basketball.
Max Wein was a two-sport athlete – playing soccer and basketball – and a two-time Schechter Westchester Athlete of the Year. He earned All-Section honors in soccer and All-Conference honors in basketball. He is the school basketball program’s all-time leader in rebounds and blocks, and he was named to the Jewish Hoops America first team in 2009. Max continued his basketball career at NYU, where he was a four-year varsity player and captain.
Naomi Pollack was an All-State soccer player who amassed 80 goals in her high school career, including a school-record 31 goals in one season. She helped lead the soccer team to a sectional championship in 2007, the first sectional soccer title in school history.
Julia Wein was a two-sport athlete at Schechter Westchester – playing soccer and basketball – and was a three-time Schechter Athlete of the Year. In soccer, she earned All-State honors, is the school’s all-time leader in points and assists, and helped lead the team to two sectional championships in 2007 and 2010. In basketball, she earned All-Section honorable mention twice and is the school’s all-time leader in points scored.
Jessie Espinet was a three-sport athlete – playing soccer, basketball, and softball – and the 2014 Schechter Westchester Athlete of the Year. She earned All-Section honors in softball and All-League honors in soccer as the team’s goalie. Jessie helped lead teams to league championships in all three sports.
Rebecca Landau was an All-Section soccer player and one of the top goal scorers in school history. She helped lead the soccer team to three league championships.
Noah Goldberg was a three-sport athlete - playing soccer, basketball, and baseball - and was a two-time Schechter Westchester Athlete of the Year. He was an All-State shortstop in baseball and an All-Section defender and two-time section champion in soccer. In addition, Noah is in the top 10 on the school’s all-time list for points scored in basketball.
Ari Leffell was a two-sport athlete at Schechter Westchester, playing soccer and baseball. He was named All-State in both sports, achieving the honor twice in baseball. He is the school’s all-time leader in soccer assists and helped lead the soccer team to two sectional championships in 2012 and 2014.
Noah Dunn was a three-sport athlete – playing soccer, basketball, and baseball – and a two-time Schechter Westchester Athlete of the Year. He earned All-State honors in both soccer and baseball, as well as All-Conference Honorable Mention in basketball. Noah was the goalie on the 2015 boys' varsity soccer team, which finished as New York State runner-up. In college, Noah was a four-year member of the Muhlenberg College tennis team.
Reese Cohen was a four-time All-Section and four-time league player of the year in soccer. She is the school’s all-time leader in goals scored with 86. Reese was the 2020 Leffell School Athlete of the Year
