Nieciecza Barn

After spending the night in Tarnow, we visited this barn in Nieciecza, where Anna Haber’s great-grandfather and great-great-grandmother were saved by a Polish family that was later recognized by Yad Vashem as righteous among the nations.

We gathered outside the barn where they hid as Anna shared their story, alongside the Polish family that cares for the barn to this day. It was an extremely emotional moment to witness that in the midst of the cruelty that was the Shoah, there were angels who risked their lives to save others— and Anna’s presence standing at the very barn where her family was saved was living proof.
