Giving Tuesday Stories

This Giving Tuesday, we are proud to share just a few of the many Voices of Leffell that showcase the uniqueness of our kehilah. Hear our students, faculty, and families share stories of inspiration, growth, and connection. We invite you to help us ensure every student can continue to find their voice — and use it to shape a bright, meaningful Jewish future.
Emma
Emma and her classmates discovered that even a small act of kindness can travel across the world to change a life.
Aileen Grill
Aileen has cherished watching her grandchildren learn and grow in the Leffell School community, while also finding her own place in programs like the Grandparent Book Club and Women’s Learning with Rabbi Sosland.
Maya
Middle School student Maya loves performing with the Leffell School Theater Ensemble, but she doesn't need the spotlight to make a big impact.
Netta
High School Senior Netta's once-timid voice has grown into one of confidence and Jewish leadership, unafraid to tackle new challenges, advocating for Israel, and founding the Riverdale chapter of Run For Their Lives.
Syd
Middle School student Syd discovered the power of experiential learning when he helped bring a creative project idea to life, hatching baby chicks in the LeFarm to School elective and gaining new confidence along the way.
Rabbi Joan Forchheimer
Beloved longtime Middle School faculty member Rabbi Joan Forchheimer is now sparking Jewish joy and pride in a second generation of students, having celebrated every formative moment of her own family's Jewish life with our community.
Jacob
Lower School student Jacob discovered his creativity and became a confident problem-solver as he tackled new and innovative challenges in our Lower School Makerspace.
