Dr. WIlliam Blank

Dr. William “Bill” Blank’s journey to the psychology office took a bit of a scenic route—starting on the stage. A graduate of NYU’s Tisch School of the Arts, Bill enjoyed early success as an actor before realizing his true calling wasn’t in the theater, but in helping others navigate life's script. This realization eventually led him to Yeshiva University’s Ferkauf Graduate School of Psychology, where he earned his doctorate in school/clinical/child psychology.

Before finding his home in education, Bill spent years at Lutheran Medical Center in Brooklyn, where he wore many hats—from serving as the "psychological trauma specialist" for those affected by the World Trade Center attacks to leading the inpatient mental health unit. In his other roles, from supporting stroke patients and their families to working with bariatric surgery candidates, Bill dedicated himself to being a steady hand during some of life’s most challenging moments.

In 2008, Bill traded the hospital halls for the hallways of The Leffell School (then Solomon Schechter School of Westchester), where he has served as the High School Psychologist ever since. He is deeply passionate about working with students, families, and faculty, making it his personal mission to champion kindness and inclusion in everything he does.

When he isn’t supporting the Leffell community, Bill is a part of a group psychotherapy practice, The Riverwalk Group, in Stamford, CT. Otherwise, you can find Bill working on his swing on the tennis court or spending quality time with his wonderful wife, Susan.
