Rabbi Mick Fine

Director of Hebrew and Judaic Studies
Rabbi Mick Fine is the Lower School director of Hebrew and Judaic studies. Prior to assuming this role, Rabbi Fine was the department chair of both Ivrit (Hebrew language) and Tanakh (Bible) in our Middle School. Before coming to The Leffell School, Rabbi Fine served as a teacher of Judaic studies at The Shefa School and at the Solomon Schechter School of Manhattan, and was the director of Hebrew language curriculum and instruction at Beit Rabban Day School, all in Manhattan. He has also worked as a youth advisor and teacher in several synagogues throughout the Northeast. He holds a BA degree in Hebrew Language from The Ohio State University, an MA in Teaching Hebrew from Brandeis University, and rabbinic ordination from the Jewish Theological Seminary. He has participated in the DeLeT (Day School Leadership Through Teaching) fellowship at Brandeis, NETA Hebrew teacher certification at Hebrew College, and language proficiency training through ACTFL (American Council on the Teaching of Foreign Languages). Rabbi Fine lives in Poughkeepsie with his family and enjoys playing guitar, Israeli music, and playing basketball.
