Jackie Grosser
For Jackie Grosser (Class of 2005), being part of The Leffell School (then Schechter Westchester) didn’t end at graduation—it became her career. “Because I had such a positive experience, I was eager to come back to the school professionally and ensure that others were able to benefit from a [Schechter] Leffell School education the way
my classmates and I did.”
As a student, Jackie and her classmates helped shape the high school experience from the ground up. “As the first class in the high school, we really paved the way for future grades. As 9th graders, we sat on a ‘Principal’s Council’ where our voices were heard and ideas implemented. We traveled together as a class to Spain in 10th grade and learned about Spanish culture and the rich Jewish history of the region. The Mock Trial team and newspaper editors had a friendly rivalry, which led to a ‘raid’ during one of our meetings. And of course, our senior trip to Israel helped define the high school experience for years to come.”
Now, as Director of Upper School Admissions & Strategic Initiatives, Jackie loves seeing today’s students thrive in the same environment that shaped her own journey. “Each morning when I walk into the building, I feel like I’m coming to my second home,” Jackie shares. “When I see high school students actively engaged in school, passion projects, extracurricular activities, etc., I see myself and my friends in them. I know we, the Class of 2005, paved the path for so many of the activities, programs, and celebrations that still exist today.”
