Jason Schreir

Jason Schreier (Class of 2005) is a reporter at Bloomberg News and the New York Times bestselling author of three books, including his latest, Play Nice: The Rise, Fall, and Future of Blizzard Entertainment. He previously worked for WIRED and Kotaku, and his writing has been published at outlets ranging from The New York Times to The Onion.
The first seeds of Jason's reporting career were planted during his early years at Solomon Schechter (now Leffell), where he joined The Lion's Roar as a writer and editor. He fell in love with journalism when the newspaper staff attended Columbia University's annual spring conference, where high school students from around the country convene to take classes and swap stories.

Jason shares, "At school, there was nothing quite like publication day—when the hallways were full of people unfolding the paper, ink staining their hands, as you wondered if they were reading something you had written (and hoped they'd make it past the first paragraph). It's a feeling that I still carry with me today."
