Ninth-Grade Dean and Dean of Students
Scott Kornberg has been a member of the Leffell School community since 2016 and currently serves as the ninth-grade dean and dean of students. Prior to joining Leffell, Scott was a learning specialist and the writing department chair at York Prep on Manhattan’s Upper West Side and taught English in both urban and suburban schools in the Hudson Valley and Greater Boston area. He holds bachelor’s degrees in communication and English from the University at Buffalo and Queens College, respectively, a master’s degree in literacy from Touro College, and an advanced certificate in special education from Mercy College. In addition to his work at Leffell, Mr. Kornberg is the boys’ side director at Camp Ramaquois in Pomona, NY. He lives in New Rochelle with his wife and two children, both of whom have attended Leffell since kindergarten, and enjoys seeing live music, singing in an a cappella group with a few members of the Leffell community, and rooting for and suffering as a Mets, Jets, and Knicks fan.
