Wrapping Up in the North

Rabbi Harry Pell

The students have had a great couple days up north, celebrating Rosh Chodesh with spirited Hallel, exploring Kabbalistic art and music in Tsfat, learning about Christianity in Kfar Nachum and Islam in Acco, hiking in Nahal Tabor, volunteering in the greenhouses of Moshav Yardena, and swimming in the Gan HaShloshah National Park.

They also voted today’s burger lunch the best lunch so far on LVN (I can’t believe I missed the best lunch!), and are currently on the way to the Kinneret Pioneers Cemetery – a beautiful spot where many of the early Zionist pioneers and leaders are buried, overlooking the waters of the Kinneret. Tonight will be their last night up north until later in the trip, and tomorrow they will head back to Jerusalem for Shabbat.
